BACKGROUND
It is no secret that the EU has stricter standards than the United States when it comes to the cosmetic/skincare industry, specifically which ingredients and/or chemicals are allowed in formulations.
The new MoCRA law (USA) that goes into effect on December 29, 2023, will grant the FDA new authorities relating to product recalls, adverse reporting, labeling, etc, but falls short on banning toxic chemicals from cosmetic products. In summary, increased manufacturing regulations but no major changes for the consumer.

With this in mind, it is always so important to read the labels of the products that you use on your skin. You are your own best advocate.
"NEVER ANY" INGREDIENTS
Below is a list of ingredients we will never use in our products:

Our "never any" list is short and sweet. When you stay close-to-nature, it is easy to skip the toxic ingredients.

GOOD & SIMPLE INGREDIENTS
The core ingredients we use in G&S balms are:
- Tallow
- Oils
- Butters
- Essential & Botanical Oils
We begin creating G&S balms with premium quality tallow as our primary ingredient. Premium quality tallow is tallow sourced from grass-fed, grass-finished, pasture-raised cows raised by local Midwest farms practicing regenerative organic farming.
